What the Blue Caves are
The Blue Caves of Zakynthos are sea arches and chambers in the white rock of Cape Skinari, at the north end of the island. Light enters through the openings and the water looks electric blue, especially on clear mornings.

What to expect in the water
The water is deep beside the rock. Swim only when the crew says so, with a life jacket if you are not confident, and well clear of the propeller. Do not touch the rock. That is why the place still looks like this.
Bring a waterproof pouch for your phone if you want a low photograph. Midday light is strong. Early morning blue is usually deeper.
